Chair Picardi called the August 8, 2018 regular meeting to order at 6:03 p.m.

PUBLIC COMMENTS

 

Jorge Sicre presented information on his mural artwork.

 

 

Donna Wardean informed the Commission about the new Veteran's Wall artwork that they installed at the Carl May.

 

 

Hope Scott spoke about her organization and the need for a facility.  She would like it placed on the agenda for next month.

 

 

DISCUSSION ITEMS AND STATUS REPORTS:

 

1.

Community and Cultural Affairs-Art in Public Places Budget

Recommendation:

Receive and file.

 

Public Works Administrative Assistant, Lynne Paul, presented the budget to the Commission and responded to questions.

 

 

2.

Bunch Palms Trail Cultivation Project Proposed Public Art (AIPP 01-18)

 

Senior Planner, Scott Taschner

 

Recommendation:

Approve and make a favorable recommendation to the City Council for approval of the proposed public art for the Bunch Palms Trail cultivation project located at the Southwest corner of Cabot Road and Little Morongo Road, in the Light Industrial (I-L) Zone. APN: 665-030-058

 

Scott Taschner, Senior Planner, presented the report and responded to questions.

 

 

Action: Burke moved to approve the staff recommendation with the condition that they place the fence behind the artwork , motion seconded by Eastman, motion carried 5/0 by the following vote:
