Chair Meyer called the meeting to order at 6:02 P.M.

Public Safety Commission Regular Meeting Minutes May 10, 2018
Recommendation:	Approve Minutes as Submitted; or Corrected

Action: Eastman moved to approve the May 10, 2018 Regular Meeting Minutes, motion seconded by Lozano, motion carried 4/0 by the following vote:

Patrick Thiels spoke about an ongoing issue with a barking dog.

Cliff Lavy spoke about his concerns with Animal Control.

PRESENTATIONS

1.	Roles and Mission of Public Safety Commission
	Jennifer Mizrahi, City Attorney

City Attorney, Jennifer Mizrahi addressed the Commission on their duties, and responded to questions.

2.	Gang Task Force
	Officer Carranza

Desert Hot Springs Police Officer Carranza presented a slide show to the Commission, and responded to questions.

3.	Public Safety Cadet Liaison Monthly Report
	Public Safety Cadet Liaison Andrea Rodriguez

Public Safety Cadet Liaison was not present. No report was given.

3.a.	New Building at Desert Hot Springs High School

Action: Vice-Chair Eastman made a motion to approve that the Desert Hot Springs Public Safety Commission supports the construction of the Public Safety Academy at Desert Hot Springs High School, motion seconded by Mayrhofen, motion carried 4/0 by the following vote:

4.	Animal Control Monthly Report
	Animal Care and Control Supervisor, Tara Carper

Tara Carper, Animal Care and Control Supervisor, gave the monthly report and responded to questions.

5.	Fire Department Monthly Report
	Fire Chief, John Crater

Chief Crater gave the monthly report and responded to questions.

6.	Code Enforcement Monthly Report
	Community Preservation Supervisor, Christina Archuleta

Christina Archuleta, Community Preservation Supervisor, gave the monthly report and responded to questions.

7.	Police Department Monthly Report
	Chief of Police, Dale Mondary

Chief Mondary gave the monthly report and responded to questions.

Public Comment: Cliff Levy spoke about his concerns with the Police Department Budget Report.
