Chair Meyer called the meeting to order at 6:00 P.M.

City Clerk, Jerryl Soriano, administered the oath.

SELECTION OF CHAIR AND VICE-CHAIR

Action: Lozano moved to approve the nomination of Commissioner Meyer as the Public Safety Commission Chair, motion seconded by Duarte, motion carried 5/0 by the following vote:

Vote:                              AYES: 5 - Eastman, Meyer, Lozano, Duarte, Mayrhofen         

Passed                         NOES: 0 - (None)

Action: Duarte moved to approve the nomination of Commissioner Eastman as the Public Safety Commission Vice-Chair, motion seconded by Mayrhofen, motion carried 5/0 by the following vote:

PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE

Commissioner Duarte led the Pledge of Allegiance.

Chief Mondary introduced the Police Department's new officers; Officer Jimenez, Officer G. Smith, Officer Orozco, and Officer Huerta.

Action: Eastman moved to approve the February 8, 2018 Regular Meeting Agenda, motion seconded by Lozano, motion carried 4/0 by the following vote:

1.	2017 Bicycle Pedestrian Safety Program - Palm Drive Signals and Lighting Project
	Recommendation:	Information Only

Chief Mondary gave an overview of the 2017 Bicycle Pedestrian Safety Program - Palm Drive Signals and Lighting Project. Chief Mondary responded to questions.

Frank Elmore spoke regarding Cabot Yerxa Elementary School cross walks and lights.

Marc Greenwood spoke regarding Pedestrian and Bike Safety.

ADMINISTRATIVE REPORTS:

2.	Public Safety Cadet Liaison Monthly Report
	Public Safety Cadet Liaison Andrea Rodriguez

Public Safety Cadet Liaison was not present.  No report was given.

3.	Animal Control Monthly Report
	Animal Care and Control Supervisor, Tara Carper

Tara Carper, Animal Care and Control Supervisor, gave the monthly report and responded to questions.  Tara Carper reported the Animal Care Center grand opening is on March 3rd.

4.	Fire Department Monthly Report
	Fire Chief, Mark Brooks

Fire Department representative was not present.  No report was given.

5.	Code Enforcement Monthly Report
	Community Preservation Supervisor, Daniel Pitts

Daniel Pitts, Community Preservation Supervisor, gave the monthly report and responded to questions.

6.	Police Department Monthly Report
	Chief of Police, Dale Mondary

Chief Mondary gave the monthly report and responded to questions.
